Cork take National Inter County as Dubs finish 2nd

Dublin finished runner up in the National Inter County in Navan on Sunday. THe guys were unable to repeat their excellent foursomes performance in McBride and found themselves with a big deficit to make up on Cork in the singles. Ciaran Gregan and Aaron Donnelly both posted round of 49 in the singles but the Cork players also had some god scores and in the end it was a comfortable win for the Rebels. Despite the disappointment of missing out, an excellent season for the Dublin team to win the Leinster and finish runner up in the All Ireland.

On Saturday Ciaran Gregan narrowly missed out on a national title. The Portmarnock youngster finished on 98 just one shy of the winner Charlie Morrissey of Rafeen Creek. Ross O’Reilly too performed well. The Old County player chasing the elusive Dublin, Leinster & All Ireland treble had to settle for 5th place after a fine score of 100. Another Old County youngster had a day to remember Cillian Smith fired in three holes in one on his 2nd round to complete a remarkable feat.

National Title up for grabs in Navan

The Under 16 players will be in Navan this weekend as the All Ireland Strokeplay championships take place in the Royal County. Dublin players enjoyed great success in the Leinster Strokeplay just under 2 weeks ago with the likes of Ross O’Reilly, Aoife Mahon and Molly McCarthy grabbing the headlines. We will be hoping for more stories of success on Saturday as well.

On Sunday the Dublin team of Ciaran Gregan, Ciaran, Lynch, Ross O’Reilly, Jamie Power, Aaron Donnelly and Aaron Monaghan will go in search of the National Inter County. The team performed really well in McBride and landed the Leinster title and they will hope to continue that good form and get the better of the likes of Meath, Cork and Kerry to complete an excellent Summer. We wish them well and will keep you informed on their progress.
